I had the delight of attending an extra Taylor workshop accompanied by Pat Kirtley a couple weeks ago. I hadn't been to one of his workshops in a couple years, therefore I was curiuous to see what he was performance different. The article I like about his workshops is that he discusses issues that are appropriate to all levels of guitar player. While he does spend some while addressing very first issues, he also works up to things that are beneficial to everyone.
This while around he played a lot of the Brazilian guitar music he has been into lately. He discussed things like the basic rhythms of Samba music including the use of percussion to backing including support the music. He also spent while discussing how to maximize practice while including get the most not in of it; something I have knowledge of I needed to hear again. All-in-all, a worthwhile evening. Even won a $25 gift certificate...which is pretty repair rare appropriate to me!
I picked up a copy of his new CD "Brazilian Guitar". Wow, I gotta state that this CD is really outstanding. The CD has both Pat including John Standefer playing on it including the music including rhythms are just sensational. I highly recommend it!
